The term beauty is always evolving. Social media favors someone as beautiful who is young, with great skin, and with a perfect physique. As people age, many fear that they will not be as beautiful as when they were a young woman or man. Reminiscing about the days with no wrinkles and a great physical appearance. Social Media has had a strong influence on one’s self confidence. Some may dislike their “body flaws” such as wrinkles, stretch marks, and dark spots. In 2018, the beauty industry made over 89.5 billion dollars and skin care products contributed over 40% globally to the cosmetic market. Everyone needs to embrace how they are made, and love themselves because this aging is just another part in the cycle of life. Live your life without any worries and embrace the beauty of life.
Natural beauty is common because many singers, models, and actors such as Jamie Lee Cutris, and Meryl Streep embrace their wrinkles, dark spots, and freckles. Many people see celebrities as their role models and want to be like them. Celebrities are the people we see in commercials, movies, and magazines, and when people constantly are looking at this rather than the image of a beautiful person, they accept their natural beauty and love themselves even more. When people look at all these pictures they look more comfortable, happier, and they can see the celebrities’ features. Adding more stress about their “flaws” as they age, increases their mental health and likely creates more wrinkles or white hair. Having a healthy lifestyle can help everyone “age well” and can protect a senior’s healthier skin as they age naturally. Exercising often, such as walking around the neighborhood or eating healthier at an earlier age, can help everyone have a healthier youthful life. There are more things to worry about other than someone’s appearance. embracing the beauty of life means that everyone should wear their wrinkles with pride because “they are the scars of wisdom, knowledge, and the beauty of life itself. A senior should wear them with pride and honor.”
