The following are steps that can help a person who is currently or at risk for being homeless and are unsure where to start. All programs have different policies regarding how to receive food and shelter or qualifications such as finding income or a maximum time frame for shelter services. It is important to keep in mind that finding a program isn’t an easy fix, rather it is important to temporarily use resources until stability has been established.

How to get Help:

  1. Reaching out to resources in your local city or residence offer plenty of resources such as food, shelter and programs online or in city offices.
  2. Find shelter before reaching out to homeless resources or call 2-1-1.
  3. Find homeless resources that will help establish temporary housing.
